House & Why

Privacy policy

This page describes the features included in the current version of House & Why. Analytics and advertising integrations are not enabled.

Who is responsible

House & Why is operated by Wellington Succi, an individual based in Brazil, who is responsible for the personal information handled by the publication. For privacy questions, contact info@houseandwhy.com.

Visiting the site

Your browser sends technical information needed to request pages, such as an IP address and browser information. Our hosting provider, Hostinger, may process request and security logs to operate and protect the service. These technical records are separate from the correspondence described below; their retention depends on the provider's service and applicable account settings.

Search

Site search uses the query you enter to find matching published pages. We do not send search terms to an analytics service. Search terms appear in the request URL and may therefore appear in hosting access logs. Do not enter personal or sensitive information into search.

Contact and correction messages

We use your name, email address, message, and any related page URL to handle your request. Messages are sent to info@houseandwhy.com through Hostinger Email. This website does not keep a separate database of message contents or provide file uploads.

Wellington Succi is the only person with administrative access to the publication's inbox. Hostinger provides the hosting and email services and processes information as needed to deliver those services; access by the publication is distinct from processing by its service providers.

Do not send passwords, payment details, medical records, or sensitive identification documents. We do not add contact-form senders to a mailing list.

How long we keep correspondence

We keep ordinary correspondence while dealing with a request and for up to six months after it is closed, to handle related follow-up questions. We review the inbox, sent messages, and trash monthly and remove closed correspondence by that deadline, or earlier when it is no longer needed. Spam and test messages are deleted when identified.

For article corrections, we retain an editorial record of what was corrected and why, removing the reader's name and email address when they are no longer needed. This does not require keeping the original email indefinitely.

Information is kept longer only where there is a specific, justified need, such as a legal obligation. We document the reason and review the continued need. Six months is our operational limit for ordinary closed correspondence, not a universal legal retention period. Requests for earlier deletion are assessed individually under applicable requirements.

This correspondence policy does not promise immediate removal from the provider's backups or technical logs. Those systems have separate retention and deletion arrangements.

Security and necessary cookies

Contact pages use a temporary session cookie to protect forms. Abuse-prevention records contain a keyed representation of the connecting IP address and request timing, not your message contents. These records are cleared by the site's maintenance task after their short security window.

No analytics or advertising trackers

Google Analytics, advertising tags, tracking pixels, session recording, and embedded third-party media are not included in this version. Fonts and brand assets are served from this website.

Questions and requests

Use our contact page for privacy questions or requests about information you have submitted. We may need enough information to locate a message and verify that the request relates to you.

Changes

We will revise this information when the actual operation changes. The cookie policy explains the current browser-storage behavior.
